Development for Mobile Devices

The competition is for mobile applications using any computing architecture (stand-alone, client-server, client-proxy-server, peer-to-peer, other), including augmented and virtual reality applications. Applications can be developed for (but not limited to) Android, iOS, Windows Phone, Blackberry OS platforms.

Competitors will demonstrate their technical skills in developing a mobile application on a current topic (eg productivity tool, game, financial application, medical application, educational application, others).

The application evaluation criteria are as follows:

Impact – refers to the degree of originality of the chosen theme, its usefulness in contemporary society

Complexity – degree of use of native functions (accelerometer, GPS, calendar, contacts, Bluetooth), data storage (local or centralized).

Accessibility and usability – the degree of adaptation to the type of terminal (tablet, mobile), different versions of operating systems; compatibility with screen-reader technologies; high contrast viewing mode.

Aesthetics – visual identity, coherent and pleasing design, logo, original graphics, interactivity.

Marketing – methods of promotion, monetization.

All applications must be demonstrated on real devices. Network services that are part of the application must also be real services that do not incorporate mock-up components. Publishing the application in dedicated stores is not mandatory.
